Last year we celebrated the Chinese New Year without Libi.
It wasn't much, just some cake and Chinese food with good friends.
This year is much more "joyous", for our little Libi Love is home with us!
We enjoyed a party with little friends on Friday.
It amazes me that Libi has so many little friends from her home country of China.
We were also able to attend a celebration at Illinois State University and go out for Chinese with friends.
I still have SO much to learn about some of the traditions.
I did decorate more this year and, as of Saturday, know it is the
year of the Ox.
So, if you want to pass on fun ideas or traditions I would LOVE it!
We are planning on giving her a new outfit and "new" money in a red envelope.
We skipped the 8 course meal tonight.
It has been such a China weekend.
This morning the travel channel had a show on Beijing.
It made me so excited to go back! Our time in China was so wonderful.
We also attended a service to commission our sweet friend, Alyssa, to go serve in China.
She will be serving orphans in a foster home there.
Thoughts of this country are just consuming my mind and heart these days.

We are so honored to be the parents of this sweet little China girl
and HOPE the year of the Ox
will bring yet another China girl home to us.
We have great respect for the traditions and culture that belong to her.
With all that said...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These little ladies are so beautiful! I love the excitement in your post. You are truly blessed - as is Libi!
Hi - This is Kory's wife (from ES). I've heard a lot about your family from Kory and got your blog from Jill L. We have recently started our own journey which will end (Lord willing) in bringing home a little girl from CHina! I'm looking forward to following your blog! Its nice to have a connection with someone that walked the road before us.
Blessings,
Megan

What precious memories you are making with your sweet Libi!
Happy Chinese New Year to you and your family.
Libi looks so sweet in her Chinese outfit. How exciting it must be for your family to have so many other families in Illinois that have little Chinese dolls, just like you.
Happy Chinese New Year,
Sydney S.
